Vladimir Novak is a freelance artist and academic in Zagreb, Croatia. He has done his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and spent a year at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. His early works explore the materiality and spatial characteristics of sculpture and installation, building minimalist structures of a monumental character. He is currently focused on the communication aspects of sculptures, installations and space. A finalist of the Young Visual Artist Award Radoslav Putar in 2022 and the recipient of the Lokve Sculpture Symposium Award at XIII. Triennale of Croatian Sculpture in 2018, he has performed eleven solo and numerous group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad.
