Garance Alves is an artist who works and lives between Brussels, Belgium, and Clermont-Ferrand, France. After her bachelor’s degree from École Supérieure d’Art de Clermont Métropole, Alves obtained her master’s degree at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre in Brussels. Her work focuses on the concept of the second skin, including fabrics and garments that become part of the person’s story and identity. The artist has participated in several collective exhibitions in Europe, including “La Ronde #6” Art Festival (Rouen, 2022), “Contrepoint” at Galerie Plagiarama (Brussels, 2018); “Les Recombinants” at Marseille International Contemporary Art Fair (Marseille, 2017) and “Nu,” (Brussels, 2017). A member of the CreArt artists’ platform, Alves has won awards from the Festival Nos Yeux Grands Ouverts at Centre Artasia (Paris, 2017) and Moulin des Arts (Saint Remy, 2021).
