Ana Aleksić, currently based in Belgrade, examines the transformation, ambiguity, and boundaries of space and images in her works. Aleksić, who studied art both in Montenegro and France, spent a year at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris on a scholarship from the French government. In 2022, she spent a year as a resident artist at the New Gallery of Visual Arts (NGVU), a Belgrade-based platform devoted to promoting contemporary visual art by female artists from the region. Aleksić, the winner of the Osten Biennial Drawing Award 2022, has participated in exhibitions and workshops, including “Masterpieces II” at the U10 Art Space (Belgrade, 2020), “Zbogom Balkan? Zbogom, Balkan!” at the Center for Contemporary Art of Montenegro (Podgorica, 2018) and Bulgaria’s Festival “Via Pontica” (Balchik, 2015).
